To Every Thing There is a Season

 Originally my intention was to create a fine art abstract mosaic about FALL but I enjoyed this idea of portraying the various times of the year and continued with the rest in the same size and format. In the center of each of these 33" wide x 25" high panels are the 3 months of each season shown day by day with a small chip of mirror glass surrounded by grout. I like the contrasting textures of each of these elements, and the way the mirrors seem to flicker as you go by. Winter I, 2010, SOLD My first winter concept was contemplating the angle of the earth/sun in winter and the six sided snowflake.

Winter II, 2013 In this version, I was interested in portraying the various colors and textures of snow with the colored pieces each one of a kind like snowflakes that show the colors of the rest of the winter landscape in New England.

Spring, 2012 My thought here was the change from the beginning to the end of the season - full snow to full green.

Fall, 2009 My intent here was for the color to move horizontally and vertically while the glass pieces are all laid horizontally.

Summer, 2011 I really like the crazy andamento in this mosaic as I believe it accurately represents the variety of summer greens. The idea came while on a mountain bike ride through a field near my house.
