GUATEMALA 4, San Lucas Toliman

My fourth mosaic project in Guatemala took place in March of 2016 on the shores of Lake Atitlán in the village of San Lucas Tolimán. Hotel Tolimán owner Chati Cajas Cuesta enthusiastically agreed to my coming down for a community mosaic project, and there was even a group of artists ready to jump on board!!! This was a dream come true, to share in the experience of creating art with residents volunteering to help beautify their town. Artist Maria Eugenia de la Vega was my local artist in charge  - more on her within the slide show.  I am full of superlatives about this project, but I reserve the most for the people I got to know along the way. It was hard to leave, my consolation: I am planning on coming back in October!! stay tuned...
