In 1972 the Pioneer 10 Spacecraft was launched by NASA on a 2 million year trip to reach the Taurus constellation. This mosaic is a tribute to the plaque onboard designed by Carl Sagan, who wanted an alien civilization encountering it to identify who and where it came from.
