YAY!! it is up at last. Install took place June 20th, all went smoothly thanks to extensive planning by yours truly. Lots of factors to consider, from a wall that slopes at the bottom to not being able (understandably) to put any hanging hardware in the mahogany.
The annual Society of American Mosaic Artists (SAMA) annual meeting will be in Boston on March 13-18 in 2018. Yours truly is in charge of the mosaic marathon, a volunteer effort where conference attendees will create the mosaic I designed for a local Boston organization. A lot of work but very exciting, and an honor to have been selected to head up this undertaking.
Cill Rialaig is history! ( see next post) It was one of the most rewarding and wonderful experiences of my life. I made 10 mosaics while there, and since I have returned made another larger mosaic encapsulating all. I am just now finally finishing up the ones I put together while in Ireland, as I work in the indirect method. I will be posting soon, as today I am doing final cleaning and putting into frames.
Cill Rialaig is just around the corner!! so excited, more info will be posted here soon...
Been a while since I posted here. Latest goings on, I've been back and forth to Florida numerous times in 2016 and already in 2017. Finally installed Lauderhill mural and will be returning for the festivities around the unveiling of the Deerfield splash pad. Images and info on Percent for Art page
My husband Marcus and I were accepted for a residency in Cill Rialaig, Ballinskelligs, Co. Kerry, Ireland in October of 2017.
