Mosaics are wonderful additions to many more areas of the home. Mosaic fireplace surrounds encompass the 2 sides and lintel of the fireplace. A mosaic fireplace hearth is on the floor in front of the firebox. Fireplace mosaics are a great way to showcase this medium as heat is not an issue and they both beautify and protect the walls/floors in these areas. Below are images of mosaics installed above fireplaces, mosaic fireplace surrounds, floor medallion mosaics and also mosaic coffee tabletops.
I don't have any images of this mosaic installed over a fireplace, but this was created for a wildlife biologist and his family.

Rockport scene, this mosaic hangs over a fireplaces in a beautiful home in Rockport, MA. This is roughly the view out the window with a little artistic license thrown in for good measure.

Chesapeake wetland scene floor medallion, this mosaic is in a room that connects the older area of a home and the new addition. I really like the reflection of the underside of the Great Blue Heron and the water ripples.

A fireplace surround for a shoe lover, all shoes were researched and some have interesting stories...this is in Palo Alto, CA and I unfortunatey never got any pictures of it installed.

These are 2 images of our well cover clad in mosaics. For those of you city/suburban dwellers, many rural homes only have wells as we are too far from city water pipes. Our wells always have an above ground element that is not that attractive; problem solved!

Above 3 mosaics are images of mosaics I have incorporated on the outside of our home: Between windows to replace small siding and 4 FISH which used to be our email address for the 4 Fisher family members. Also, my first ever mosaic is the one on the far left, made in 2000!
