WORLD WITHOUT US
The World Without Us is a book by Alan Weisman that I recently read based on the thought experiment, what would happen to the earth if we humans disappeared? It is beautifully written and thought provoking, exploring a variety of outcomes but also deeply reflective of how we have taken for granted abundant natural resources with little view to the consequences of overuse. My mosaic diptych reflects what might return, eventually, with the forest scene, and some of the ravages we are leaving in our wake: ultra developed cityscapes and the oil and petrochemical legacy that has raced us to this point at which we find ourselves. However, the book can also leave one surprisingly hopeful - I encourage you to check it out! NEXT IN SERIES
