HUMAN NATURE
The subject of human nature is vast, monumental, immeasurable. After millions of years of evolution from hominids to modern humans and thousands of generations being hunter-gatherers, much of who we are has been a long time coming. A self-portrait, depiction of the magnificent human brain, our 23 chromosomes, the yin/yang as a nod to religion, the symbolism of good and evil, (the morning glory represents the ‘light of truth’, the flying blue devil creature from a twelfth century mosaic of the Last Judgement.) With these choices I have zeroed in on just a few of the elements the wonderful E.O. Wilson focuses on in his 1979 Pulitzer Prize-winning book, On Human Nature. NEXT IN SERIES
