EARTH TIME
Earth has existed for 4.6 billion years. Instead of a timeline I was interested in showing proportionally the various eons and eras before humans evolved in an attempt to put our presence in perspective. We have been here as a species for 300,000, too small of a number to represent in this mosaic. (yes, the little ceramic hand represents us, although way out of scale …) The schematic below explains the layout.
