INSIGNIFICANT YET ABOLUTELY DOMINANT
‘The Anthropocene’ is a new term referring to the current geological age during which human activity has been the dominant influence on the environment and all the life-forms with whom we share this precious planet. While the classification is not ‘official’, it recognizes the drastic changes for which we are responsible. Our global population was 4 million at the start of the Holocene Epoch, a mere 11,400 years ago; we just reached 8 billion in November, 2022. The schematic below explains the layout.
