My entry for the 2003 Belfast, Maine Bearfest. What a ton of work.First it was necessary to fabricate the headdress. I used insulation board as an underlayment and then covered with fiberglass mesh. This stuff is NASTY to work with! The mosaics had to be laid with 2 part epoxy and were a nightmare to grout. A friend assisted with his beautiful skirt. My bear's nickname is 'combustible bear' as he is so loaded with various chemical products (to ensure his being waterproof) that he could easily go KABOOM if a match were lit anywhere nearby.
