The Great Blue Heron is a magnificent bird, its predatory nature obvious in the cast of that grim eye. It was interesting to portray the feathers in a decorative way in addition to a realistic interpretation of colors. Again, I enjoyed creating the reflection. This is a perfect example of how the medium, mosaic, dictates how the image is conveyed.
