I got ideas for portions of this mosaic while x-c skiing this past winter. I kept hoping I'd be lucky and see a Barred Owl, the most common owl in our vicinity here in western Massachusetts. Recently we had a Barred Owl situate itself on a tree about 20 yards from our house and just stay put waiting for a suitable meal to scramble by, but apparently he/she was not successful.
